Thanks to everyone for the
Halloween Haunted House.

We would like to thank the numerous amount of people and organizations who helped the Deninu Kue Adult Learning Centre Student Council with the Halloween Haunted House. This event was a scream. We had kids and adults of all ages come out and have a freaky time. The house was frightening with a mad scientist theme, dead fortune teller's house with tarot readings, a casket with a skeleton scene and a grave yard scene. All the students from the learning centre participated in creating a successful event: Clifford Cardinal, Arlo McDermott, Flora Sayine, Corrine Cardinal, Minnie Whimp, Stephanie Sayine, Arthur Lafferty, Catherine Boucher, Diane Balsillie, Joseph King, John David Sayine, Patricia Mandeville, Shawn Mckay, Dawna Beaulieu, Cheryl Lafferty and Rosy Bjornson.

Each year the D.C.C. Recreation department has costume judging and then when it is over all that the kids to look forward to is trick or treating, so we as the Student Council recognized the problem and tried to solve it. We held bake sales, raffles and stew and bannock lunch to raise money for this Halloween event.

We also received donations from various organization such as Deninoo Community Counil, Deninu Drug and Alcohol, John Bjornson Const. Ltd., Fort Resolution Metis, Beaulieu.s Motel, Child Care Initiative Program and Northern Stores. There were a lot of other individuals that helped as well: Tracy Balsillie who purchase the fog machine for us in Yellowknife; Eva Beaulieu who sent the fog machine from Yellowknife on First Air; Hank Mulder who picked up the fog machine in Hay River. Melvin Mandeville, Alicia Delorme, April Lizotte, Terimae Beaulieu, Todd Sayine, Sarah Biscaye, Faye Aviugana and Philip Beaulieu who all helped with the decorating of the event.

Once again, Mahsi Cho!

Santa's Parade/ Sliding Party

We would like to present the idea of a Santa's Parade and Sliding Party. In order to do this we will need time, donations, volunteers and ideas. We will have a Santa Float, and we welcome anyone to decorate a float themselves. We do not have any money for prizes, yet we figure with the help of the community we could make this Christmas a holiday for our children to remember. Our Student Council will start to fund raise as soon as possible for this event. We need ideas and volunteers to make this work.

Volunteer - it will make a better future for the children of this community.
