April is Oral Health Month!

April is Oral Health Month!

After a year of social distancing and isolation, we could use more reasons to smile. Here are two reasons: Spring is coming and April is Oral Health Month! This year we want to celebrate with you by sharing some of the resources we’ve created at NWT Literacy Council for children and their families to enjoy. Find activity sheets, craft ideas, and brushing charts in French and English that you can print off and use with your children.

Celebrate with us by enjoying oral health craft time with your children. Then talk about the importance of keeping your gums and teeth healthy by brushing and flossing every day. After you finish an oral health-themed activity, post your photo on Facebook and tag us. Submit your entry by April 30. You will then be entered into a prize draw to win some swag!

Click below to check out our activities. We can’t wait to see your submissions online in celebration of Oral Health Month 2021!

All of these resources have been created in collaboration with NWT Health and Social Services (HSS).  YWCA NWT helped with the Marshmallow Mouth Activity idea. Mahsi cho to the Oral Health Unit, Indigenous Health and Community Wellness Division (HSS), and YWCA NWT!
