Our New Year’s resolutions

The New Year is when we resolve to do better and be better.  The NWT Literacy Council is no different.

We have a link to our blog on our new website, but during 2013 blogging regularly got pushed off the side of everyone’s desks in light of more urgent tasks.  2014 will be different!  We WILL blog.

We want our blog to be a place we can raise literacy issues and share information.  We want it to be interactive and stimulate discussion.  We welcome ideas for topics for our blog and guest bloggers.

Our second resolution, as an organization, is to hire a new executive director so I can retire.  Much as I love my work, it’s time for me to step back and for new leadership.  The board is working on this.

Third, we resolve to get our reports to funders in on time.  We’re usually pretty good at this.  But, today, our first day back at work after the holidays, we learned we have a report overdue.  Ooops!  Hopefully this is the last time in 2014 we get one of these phone calls.

We wish everyone a wonderful 2014.
